Exploring Figurative Abstraction: The Figure as Architect

November 18 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$235

THE FIGURE AS ARCHITECT; BUILDING AN IMPLIED SPACE

In this workshop, the proportions, perspective, and placement of multiple figures in one composition will build the space of your drawing. We will draw the model in 5-7 different positions on one large surface, working at making a cohesive composition.

These lectures, given by Michael O’Keefe, will thoroughly explore various fundamental ideas of visual art. In each lecture, participants will view many examples of works of art that demonstrate a dynamic use of a particular art idea. Michael will discuss the nature of these concerns and how they are integrated into the compositions of the examples shown. Each topic will be considered as it relates to 2D and 3D art. The goal of these sessions is to help participants develop a more keen and complex understanding of essential art ideas.
