SUMMARY:Exploring Figurative Abstraction: Video Still Sequence
DESCRIPTION:VIDEO STILL SEQUENCE \nIn this workshop\, participants will become witnesses to there own physical gestures. Participants will use their phones or cameras to record a 3-minute video of themselves\, then extract 3 stills from the video. The video stills inform us about the physical transition before and after the “action” of the primary image. Participants will take this source material to create one singular composition that transcribes the kinetic. \nThese lectures\, given by Michael O’Keefe\, will thoroughly explore various fundamental ideas of visual art. In each lecture\, participants will view many examples of works of art that demonstrate a dynamic use of a particular art idea. Michael will discuss the nature of these concerns and how they are integrated into the compositions of the examples shown. Each topic will be considered as it relates to 2D and 3D art. The goal of these sessions is to help participants develop a more keen and complex understanding of essential art ideas. \n
