In 2013 Michael O’Keefe opened The O’Keefe Studio Center as an independent teaching space dedicated to arts education for adults and young adults of all artistic backgrounds. Classes at The O’Keefe Studio Center focus on the disciplines of design, drawing, painting and sculpture. Many classes incorporate an emphasis on figurative work. The O’Keefe Studio Center also offers classes, workshops and lectures that deal with general visual vocabulary, that investigate historical and contemporary art concerns, and offer professional development opportunities in the arts.

Michael O’Keefe lives and works as an artist in Dallas, Texas, working in the fields of drawing, painting and sculpture. Michael exhibits his work regularly in Dallas, represented by Valley House Gallery and Sculpture Garden. Michael received a Bachelor degree in Arts from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA after studying at the Maryland Institute College of Art and the International School of Art in Umbria, Italy. Following his undergraduate education, Michael studied briefly at The New York Studio School. Michael received an MFA from Southern Methodist University.

Michael O’Keefe has 20 years of teaching experience, working with a very diverse range of students. He has worked with individuals of all ages and various backgrounds, working in the disciplines of design, drawing, painting and sculpture, as well as art history. Since 2006, Michael has taught in various venues in the DFW area, including Brookhaven College, Collin College, Eastfield College, Southern Methodist University, The Bonny Studio, The Creative Arts Center, and Corgan Associates, Inc. Currently, O’Keefe teaches exclusively at The O’Keefe Studio Center.
